   Nikon 7×50 is the best for the money …they work well and i can see 4 of jupiters moons and tell thier movement each night..seriously they are great to start with..

   You don't have to pay up for Photoshop. I think GIMP will meet your needs.The AI; leave it up to your friends to program. Although AI is an advanced topic so it might take a while until your friends learn how to do that. The animation; I think just save the different frames in the same picture. If an animation has 7 frames, then save them all in the same picture. You friends will animate them. I don't know what you mean by models, but for maps yo can design the tiles and the basic features on the map. You won't design a map as it will appear on a game. Your friends will "glue" everything together.
